The 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray
One person has been arrested after a car ploughed into a group brawling with knives outside London Central Mosque. Shocking footage circulating on social media shows four men locked in a fight on Park Road, near Regents Park, on Saturday afternoon (Saturday, September 27).
Traffic was brought to a standstill as the violent tussle spilled into the road, blocking two lanes of buses heading towards Baker Street. A crowd of stunned worshippers can be seen watching on as the group throw punches, before a bystander attempts to intervene.
One man was stabbed during the daylight incident but his injuries are not serious, the Metropolitan Police said. A 30-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of affray, the force added. He remains in custody whilst further enquiries are made.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Met Police received multiple reports of a large disturbance on Park Road, NW8 at around 15:48hrs on Saturday, 27 September. A group of men were witnessed fighting in the road before being involved in a collision with a single vehicle.
“Officers responded, and one man was located with stab injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
“A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray. He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
