A common mistake many people make is not knowing the best time to add salt to a soup, and sometimes, it ends up becoming too salty. As shared in Rebecca Katz Kitchen’s blog, it’s all about “taste, discover, and build the flavour throughout the cooking process.”

She explained: “Salt brings out the flavour of food and moves the flavour to the front of the tongue where taste is best perceived. If the flavour is hanging back, then you need a pitch or two of salt to move it to the front.”

Have you ever added extra salt to your food when you thought it was lacking taste? Using salt contributes to the overall flavour and texture. It’s one of the most important ingredients, and although it’s not necessarily used in every dish, it can enhance the flavour.
