Anyone with a sweet tooth will want to head to their nearest Co-op quick – as there’s a delicious new treat waiting on the shop shelves.
Who doesn’t love a sweet treat to perk you up in the middle of a long working day? Well, if your nearest shop is a Co-op, good news – as there’s a brand new offering instore that people are desperate to try.
It’s something delicious that you’d often only find available at artisan bakeries, as it pairs perfectly with a good cup of coffee or tea. But it’s also a great snack for on-the-go, and Co-op is reportedly currently the only high street shop you’ll find this treat at.
The treat in question is a cruffin, a glorious croissant/muffin hybrid that shoppers say they ‘need’ to get their hands on.

The convenience retailer’s new cruffin jumps on the hybrid pastry trend and is the only one of its kind found on high street store shelves.
Coming in a delicious cinnamon flavour, the new pastry can be found in Co-op’s in-store bakery range, priced at £1.10, and is perfect for those who find it difficult to choose between their favourite pastries. Combining the best of both worlds, the cruffin features a flaky croissant exterior embracing the soft, doughy heart of a muffin, all crowned with a delectable cinnamon sugar dusting.
The supermarket shared a snap of the delicious-looking pastry on Instagram, encouraging fans to guess what it may be. One person commented: “A croissant and a muffin. I had one on St Ives a couple of years ago…it had custard inside and was scrumptious. I can’t believe you’re going to be selling them.”
Another simply stated: “Ok I need this,” alongside a heart-eyes emoji.
Those with a Co-op membership card can also elevate their lunch game and take advantage of some great lunch-time savings by adding the cruffin as a snack option when choosing either a Co-op standard meal deal main or premium meal deal main.
The standard meal deal, which costs £3 for members, includes a main, a snack, and a drink, or the premium meal deal is £5 for members and includes a premium main, a snack, and a drink.
