A couple were left baffled after they found an unexpected object hidden inside one of the walls of their newly bought 1940s home while they were renovating their bathroom

A couple from Winnipeg in Canada got a shock of a lifetime during their bathroom renovation, when they came across an unexpected item hidden in the wall.

Finding unexpected surprises inside the walls of your house is rarely a good thing – from mould, water leaks, or other costly issues, it’s often a pain to have to deal with new problems as they arise. However, one couple were blown away as they went to renovate their bathroom only to get a scary surprise as they knocked through one of the walls. Taking to social media, the homeowner couple went on to share a video from the moment they unearthed the hidden item, which left them in stitches.

The video began by showing the wall that was being ripped out. A small hole had been made, which had revealed an ominous sight – the head of a skeleton.

The man was then seen carefully ripping out the rest of the drywall in order to reveal a full skeleton. However, they soon burst out laughing, as the skeleton in question was dressed to the nines in a pair of jeans, with a buttoned shirt tucked into them, along with a black belt around the waist.

It also had a piece of folded paper in its chest pocket which read ‘BOO! Ha ha, did I scare you? Jason Lane, 2013’.

“There’s a note! And there’s a belt a whole skeleton!” the woman exclaimed from behind the camera. “Oh my god, that’s hilarious.”

The video was soon uploaded onto Viralhog, where the presumed house owner, Kaleigh Allison, went into more detail about the find.

“While renovating the bathroom in my Winnipeg house (built in 1941) we found a previous owner had hidden a plastic skeleton in the wall, with a note,” she explained.

She went on to reveal that they’d also found a USB drive in its wallet, where the previous owner had shared the story of the house, including what it looked like before he renovated it, as well as what it looked like when his great-grandfather owned it.

“I plan to put the skeleton back in the wall and add my own photos and my story to the same flash drive,” she added.

After the video was shared to Instagram, several people went on to share their thoughts as many claimed it was a great prank.

“Beutiful [sic] prank fr,” one person said, while another viewer wrote: “Bro looks comfortable in there – all tucked in like that.”

“Wow that’s really playing the long game,” a third person said.

Someone else went on to say: “I would’ve left my email or something. I’d love to know when it was discovered.”

However, not everyone believed that the prank was real, as someone else argued: “No way that skeleton and that note will be that clean and crisp …but good one.”
