A middle-aged man has been left with a severe head injury following a pub fight in Croydon. The emergency services raced to the pub in George Street at around 5pm on Friday (May 24).
There they found the 54-year-old who had severe head injuries. A 35-year-old man was arrested. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD5632/24MAY.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 4.56pm on Friday, May 24, by London Ambulance Service [LAS] to reports of an injured man in a pub in George Street, Croydon. Officers attended and found a 54-year-old man suffering severe head injuries.
“The man was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries are being assessed. A 35-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries into the circumstances continue.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD5632/24MAY. You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5pm on Friday May 24 to reports of an assault on George Street, Croydon. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene.
“Our paramedics treated a man at the scene for a head injury and took him to hospital as a priority.”
