‘Do not approach’ public warned as gunman with West London links escapes prison

A police manhunt is underway after a prisoner with links to West London escaped from jail. Brian Odour, 34, bolted from open prison HMP Springhill in Buckinghamshire more than two months ago on March 25, but has been spotted since in Hammersmith in Fulham since.

He is described by police as being black, about 6ft tall and of medium build. Along with Hammersmith and Fulham he has links to Hayes and Edgware; along with Bushey in Hertfordshire and Dunstable and Houghton Regis in Bedfordshire.

Odour was jailed for 15 years in 2018 after being convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Investigating officer Police Staff Investigator Claire Busby, of the Prison Crime Team, said: “We are appealing for the help of the public to trace Brian Odour. If you see Odour, do not approach him and call 999 instead.

“If you have any information as to where he may be, please call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference number 43250146127. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”
