Motorists can slash their car insurance costs immediately by revealing ONE crucial detail to their provider. Drivers have been urged to inform insurers about a simple factor that could easily reduce their next premium.

Used car dealer Swansway Motor Group explained: “Where you park your car can significantly impact your insurance premium. Parking on a driveway is often perceived by insurers as safer than street parking, which is more susceptible to theft and accidental damage.”

“Informing your insurer that the vehicle will be parked in a relatively safe location can lead to more favourable rates. It’s a simple adjustment that can have a meaningful impact on your costs.” In other news, Elon Musk wants to start supplying energy to your home with new British Gas rival.

They continued: “However, being as precise as possible is crucial because inaccuracies could lead to significant consequences. If you provide false information or fail to accurately answer your insurer’s questions – a practice known as non-disclosure – you may face several repercussions.”

One key reason your car insurance might be cancelled is non-disclosure. Should you fail to reveal correct, current, and pertinent details to your insurer, they’re entitled to cancel your policy, reports Birmingham Live.

You might have withheld information either deliberately or by mistake. Your insurer can cancel your policy if they suspect you intentionally concealed vital information. They might suspect that you’ve attempted to make a fraudulent claim.

A policy that has been voided will be invalid from the start date, as if it never existed, so any ongoing claims will be rejected. Unlike questions from insurers about spent convictions, administrative enquiries – like asking if you’ve ever had a policy cancelled or refused – aren’t subject to time limitations. This implies that you must disclose all instances of policies being cancelled, voided, or refused, regardless of when they happened.

Car insurance is mandatory and a legal requirement in the UK for any vehicle used on roads and public places. It protects the driver and others involved during an accident. A third-party insurance is the legal minimum car insurance to drive legally.

According to Go Compare, the average car insurance in the UK is now £779 for young drivers. However, this drops by 53% to £363 for a year’s cover when drivers are aged 65 and over. However, the overall price depends on how long the driver has been on the road, any history of accidents or offences, and the make and model of the car.
