Ealing man in his 60s dies more than a month after Shepherd’s Bush e-bike crash

A man in his 60s has died more than a month after he was hit by an e-bike in West London, police have confirmed. He was struck close to Shepherd’s Bush Market on Uxbridge Road just before 1.30pm on February 28 and spent over four weeks in hospital.

It is thought he stepped into the cyclist’s path after walking in front of a bus to cross the road. The pedestrian later passed away on April 2, according to a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police.

His name has not yet been released but he was from Ealing. No one has been arrested in connection to his death as of today (May 19) but an investigation is ongoing.

Detectives are now appealing for information relevant to the fatal collision. Anyone who saw or knows something about the incident is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference 3515/28FEB25. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “On Friday, February 28 at 1:28pm, police and the London Ambulance Service responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and an e-bike. A man in his 60s from Ealing was treated at the scene by paramedics and was later taken to hospital. Very sadly, he died in hospital on Wednesday, April 2.

“This investigation is ongoing. At this stage no arrests have been made. Anyone with information can contact 101 quoting reference 3515/28FEB25.”
