One-time Emmerdale star Mica Keeble has shared some sweet snaps from her wedding, including trying out a rather unique wedding tradition to ensure good weather
Former Emmerdale actress Mica Keeble nee Proctor is all grown-up in snaps from her wedding in 2019.
She’s best known for portraying young Charity Dingle in the ITV soap opera in a flashback episode back in 2018. The iconic character is usually played by Emma Atkins.
Mica is about to celebrate five years of marriage to husband Roddy and has also been blessed with two children.
A superstition of burying a sausage at your wedding to ensure good weather has now become the inspiration behind a new product from HECK! Food, the “Bride’s Lucky Sausage”. Mica, who met her husband at the Bedale food factory, was blessed with good weather on her own special day after deploying the tradition herself.

Much like the “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue,” bridal tradition or the old wives’ tale that it’s bad luck for a couple to see one another before walking down the aisle, this sausage superstition is supposed to ward off bad weather. It’s a kooky custom that has been passed down the decades and is believed to have started in the UK.
Now the Yorkshire-based sausage and burger firm is launching the special edition “Brides Lucky Sausage” Ring seasoned with sage, rosemary, thyme and a hint of ‘good luck’.
It was a tradition used by HECK! bride and former Emmerdale actress, Mica, who met her husband Roddy while working at the Bedale food factory.
She used her own HECK! sausages the night before her wedding to ensure the rain was kept away and to help bring good luck to the marriage.
Mica, who now heads up the production team at HECK! said: “I’m not surprised this tradition is so popular, I’d read that it was an ancient custom and that the weather would be good if you buried a banger and the sun did shine all day. We had a lovely day on Roddy’s Grandad David’s Farm.”
Mica’s own love story was bang on as she met her husband, Roddy Keeble, on the sausage line at HECK!
She said: “He literally romanced me with a sausage sandwich which he brought into work for me every day. We got married in the local church and had bangers and mash for our reception dinner.”
Inspired by the tradition, Mica has now created a special wedding sausage recipe, which is going into production for the wedding season.
“It’s a long circular sausage that’s tied at the end to signify tying the knot. It’s also got lovely old-fashioned ingredients in it including sage for strength, rosemary for romance and thyme for a long life. We are going to offer it to brides who would like to continue the tradition, or enjoy it cooked on the day or at a wedding breakfast.”
HECK! is now offering the first 10 lucky brides the chance for their own special “Bride’s Lucky Sausage” as a wedding gift from the company during the August wedding season.
