Meghan Markle has revealed her two-year-old daughter Lilibet blew her away when she spoke a sweet six-word sentence to her mother.

The Duchess of Sussex was keen to open up about her “chatty, sweet” kids, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, during a heartfelt chat in Nigeria. Meghan, alongside hubby Prince Harry, delved into the joys and challenges of motherhood while speaking at a panel on women’s leadership.

And the 42-year-old former actress took the opportunity to share a touching anecdote about her daughter Lilibet with the students.

She said: “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys. She’s about to turn three, and a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she goes, ‘Mama, I see me in you’.”

Meghan said that when Lilibet uttered these words, she was speaking “really literally,” and she “hung onto those words in a very different way.” She added: “I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you. As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”

Meghan also reminisced about a pivotal breakfast meeting with NBCUniversal’s vice-chair Bonnie Hammer, where she sought advice on juggling career and family.

Meghan shared: “She invited me to have breakfast, and I thought this was just the biggest deal in the world. And I asked her that exact question. I said, ‘How do you find the balance?’ And she said, ‘You don’t, you’ll never find the balance’.”

Reflecting on her life’s unexpected turns, Meghan told People magazine: “And this was before I was married. This was before I had children. This is before all the things in my life have certainly had a plot twist.”

Meghan created a heartfelt moment as she shared her thoughts on motherhood and her children’s personalities. She said: “What I think that means now is that that balance will always change for you … What seems balanced 10 years ago is going to shift, and so being a mom has always been a dream of mine and I’m so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children. I love being a mum.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a quick-fire 72-hour tour of Nigeria last Friday. Their visit began with a trip to the Lightway Academy school in Abuja, the capital city.
