A woman has been urged to contact a towing company after revealing how her ‘entitled’ neighbour has blocked her in her driveway for three months – with many people in disbelief she has let it go on for so long

A woman has shared her outrage after her ‘entitled’ neighbour blocked her driveway with his broken car for three months. She explained how her neighbour moved in about seven to nine months ago – and made a name for themselves straight away after being spotted throwing rubbish into other people’s gardens.

Speaking on Reddit, she said: “My new neighbour had thrown their trash in front of my property when it was time to get rid of bulky items which their trash consisted of cans and food. My family had caught them on CCTV doing this not knowing why they didn’t just put it in front of their property.

“We had asked them to pick it up and they didn’t like that. A couple of months passed and we discovered trash in our bins that wasn’t ours we were sure it was the new neighbour but had no proof.” Weeks later, the neighbour upped the ante and started blocking their driveway with their ‘broken car’ – leaving her to believe this was their idea of ‘revenge’.

She added: “When we asked them to move, they had the audacity to say no and that there was enough space to back out and that he would help her. It took five minutes for my mum to just back out to which he acted like a **** to my mother, waving his hands up and down showing ‘look you can back out’.

  • “You guys may think that if she could back out, it meant that there was enough space, however, there was little space, their car was parked over the property line and five minutes to back out of a driveway is way too long.” She says the car has been parked in the same spot for close to three months – and its license plate has now been removed as the ‘car has some problems’.

“It seems like they’ve abandoned their car to me,” she said. “We have contacted housing to which they came down and saw that they were blocking my driveway and asked them to move but they gave some excuse that their daughter had the keys and they would move it when she gets back.

“It’s been three weeks now to which we have gone to housing again but they said to go to the police for help to which we did but the police said to contact the council for help.” Seeking advice, she added: “Now we struggle to even park on our front yard due to the walkway breaking from the wet weather and my mum having to constantly park there.

“My neighbour won’t move their car and we have asked several times and now they just avoid us. What do I do?” While most users slammed the neighbours for being so ‘rude’ and ‘entitled’, others urged the family to contact the police, council, or a towing company.

One user said: “Pay a towing company. ‘Hey, I live here, this is proof that I do. This car is blocking my driveway, I do not know whose car it is but it has been left for a month’.” Another user added: “Call your jurisdiction, police whomever and report an abandoned vehicle. They’ll have it towed.”

A third user said: “Why on earth haven’t you called the police and reported a car blocking your driveway? I don’t know any jurisdiction where it is legal to block a driveway. Call the local non-emergency number for your police and they will come out and either ticket it or have it towed immediately.”
