Londoners can expect thundery showers and winds across the city from tomorrow
Weather forecasters have predicted the exact date London is set to be battered by 48 hours of thunderstorms. Londoners can expect thundery showers and winds across the city from tomorrow (Monday, October 19).
BBC Weather predicts that temperatures will settle to around 15C over Monday and Tuesday. While the thunderstorms are set to clear by Wednesday, London is still is for another two days rain and drizzle.
There will then be some brief respite over the weekend as some sun starts to peak through the cloud. Temperatures are set to stay around the mid-teens mark, with period of both rain and sunshine.
The BBC Weather forecast says: “Tomorrow will soon turn mostly cloudy with showers developing widely, some of these on the heavy side and potentially giving the odd rumble of thunder. Moderate winds.
“Tuesday will see variable cloud and the chance of a few light showers lingering around. Staying breezy. Becoming dry with sunshine on Wednesday but areas of cloud are expected to develop from the south through the evening. A very unsettled and windy day on Thursday, with an area of heavy, blustery rain and the risk of gales. Rain clearing to showers in the afternoon.”
Meanwhile, the Met Office is offering a slightly more positive weather forecast for the upcoming week. It predicts heavy rain for tomorrow, while Tuesday remains partly cloudy but changing to sun.
Despite the forecast of thunderstorms, there are currently no weather warnings in place over the capital – so hopefully there will be very limited disruption over Monday and Tuesday.
