The flight attendant shared the revelation when she shared three things she would never do because of her job
A flight attendant has warned against a ‘gross’ suitcake mistake that she finds inexcusable. TikTok user @cherdallas regularly posts videos sharing tips and tricks she’s learned on the job. In one post, Cher told her 24,000 followers: “Three things I’ll never do as a six-year flight attendant.”
For her first point, Cher said: “I will never pack or unpack my suitcase on my bed. The fact that the wheels have been rolling through the airport, across the floor, across the bathroom, like that’s nasty enough, the airport carpet, like uh uh that’s already gross, but the inside of the actual bins on the airplane are really disgusting.
“There have been many flights, not just one, where I’ve had breast milk spill in the bins. Taking my suitcase and putting it on my bed after it’s been through those conditions is an absolute no from me.”
For similar reasons, Cher said she takes her shoes off as soon as she gets home. “My shoes that I wear to the airport do not go in my house. I take them off at the door,” she explained. “My shoes are not getting worn all the way into my room on my carpet, like absolutely not, especially my work shoes because they have been vomited on.”
She added: “This applies to travel clothes too. I am not wearing my travel clothes in my bed, that is just disgusting. People that come from the airport and take a nap in the clothes that they wore on the plane, oh my god.”
Cher said her third point might be controversial, but it’s a rule she set for herself. “I won’t fly with dirty hair,” she shared. “I don’t know what it is, flying just makes your hair greasy, like it gets gross just from being on the plan. I can’t bear when I go in the lavatory and I see how freaking greasy and disgusting my hair looks.
“This is gonna be an unpopular take because I know it’s like, what’s the point of washing it when it’s going to get disgusting on the flight. I just can’t fly without clean hair because even if it’s a little greasy and I use dry shampoo, my scalp gets so dry from the dry air.
“Those two in combination just leaves me with the most unhealthy scalp. I pretty much always wash my hair before I’m gonna fly or I just wear a slick back.”
Referencing the suitcase mistake in her caption, Cher added: “There’s no reason to EVER do this with your suitcase. I’m sorry it’s so unforgivable to me.”
It’s a point that was backed up in the comment section of the video. Replying to the post, someone said: “I don’t understand putting your suitcase on your own bed or hotel bed! Gross to the max!
“And airplane clothes goes straight to the washer or hotel laundry, 100%!” Another reply read: “Don’t forget bed bugs,” and Cher responded: “Omg the beddd bugs yeah that’s terrifying.”
