‘Fly high Johnny’: Family pay tribute to man killed as woman, 30, charged with his murder

The family of a man who was killed in Essex have paid tribute to a ‘beautiful and kind-hearted soul’. A woman has been charged with murder as officers continue to investigate reports of a ‘serious assault’ in Willingale Road on Wednesday, July 3.

Following a call at around 10.20pm, police attended an address and found a man had suffered serious injuries. He was taken on to hospital, but sadly later died on Thursday, July 4.

Although formal identification has yet to take place, Essex Police says it is now in a position to name him as 60-year-old John Bain. His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

‘Fly high Johnny, we love you’

In a statement, his family said: “Our brother, John, will be remembered by us all as a beautiful and kind-hearted soul. He was known as Johnny to his friends and family.

“He will be sadly missed by us all. Fly high Johnny, we love you.”

Georgia Wildman, 30, of Mornington Road, Loughton, is charged with murdering John and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, July 8). A police spokesperson added: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we would continue to appeal for anyone with information on this incident to get in touch.”
