It’s going to be a return to miserable weather later this week as forecasters down at the BBC predict a thunderstorm. The fateful day will be this Thursday (July 31) when we will hear loud claps between 1pm and 8pm.
This won’t quite be what we expected during the height of July, especially after it’s been so hot in recent weeks. And if won’t be the only poor day this week either as Friday (August 1) and Sunday (August 3) will see showers.
This won’t quite be what we hoped for at the height of summer. But we also needn’t despair as the hot weather is also set to return.
And The Met Office’s long-range forecast predicts it will be okay during the first week of August. It says: “High pressure to the southwest of the UK will maintain drier weather across the southern half of the UK, and eastern England will also likely see much more in the way of dry and fine weather as well.”
However the latter part of August may see the return of the bad weather. The forecast reads: “For most, dry weather is likely to continue, although short periods of showers and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Temperatures are most likely to be around to above average, with a near normal chance of brief spells of hot weather.”
