If you’ve neglected your lawn don’t worry, there’s still time to get it looking lush and green ready for summer parties and barbeques – and it can all be done in just four weeks

Summer is coming. Apparently, it’s around the corner even though it may not seem it at the moment. However, while the British weather continues to disappoint it does mean there is still plenty of time to get your lawn looking lush and green ready for those few days you might be able to enjoy it.

Sharing their top tips on social media, TikTok user The Lawn Pack revealed how he had t ransformed his garden from drab to fab in just four weeks. Sharing some highly impressive before and after photos, he began listing the steps he had taken, all of which were done in the same day.

Starting off, he explained that they had begun by scarifying the lawn to remove any excess thatch and allow the lawn to breathe. This can be done by using a tool to clear matted grass and moss from the surface of your lawn and lightly opening up the ground to add air and improve growth.

  • It’s easy to do with a manual scarifier, but if you need to scarify larger areas, you might want to think about getting some extra power behind you and use either a cordless or petrol-driven scarifier.

After doing this, the TikTok user applied a “quality granular seeding fertiliser” all over the land. Look out for a mix that contains appropriate quantities of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium that will nourish low-nutrient soil.

Next up, it’s time for the actual grass seed. The expert stated that he used dwarf ryegrass to make sure it was resilient as it was being used quite frequently by pets and just in general usage. After the seed was planted, he then applied liquid seaweed, explaining that it is an “organic biostimulant and will help root development”.

Finally, he watered the entire lawn and made sure to water it daily for four weeks. He finished. The same process is entirely possible with your lawn so in four weeks your lawn could be looking like this too!”

Viewers of the video were impressed by the transformation. One person replied: “This is So lush and green!” Another user asked if the process would work on a heavily shaded garden, to which he replied that it definitely would.
