When the weather is hot, there’s nothing like sipping on an ice cold drink, but it’s difficult to achieve when you’re on the go. Luckily for us, a video has gone viral on TikTok – and it reveals a simple trick to keeping your bottle cool.
The hack is super handy for the summer months, as it’s vital to stay hydrated in the sunny weather. Savvy content creator kate_cleanhome shared the video, and it’s got a lot of people talking.
In the short clip, you basically see her fill her re-usable water bottle up before popping it in the freezer on the side. If you do this, it will freeze the water on one side of the bottle.
Then, when frozen, you can fill the other side with fresh water while the other side remains frozen. You’ve got it – the technique basically works to create a giant ice cube to keep your drink cool.
It may seem a simple trick, but it’s got a lot of people talking. Social media users just couldn’t believe how clever it is, and it’s pretty fool-proof too.

Since the video was shared, it’s garnered many views. People were quick to share their thoughts on the hack. – some said they “always” do this, while others dubbed it “genius”.
One wrote: “Wow – this is really amazing.” Another wrote: “This is so smart – omg.” A third replied: “This is actually so smart.” Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I love this. I tried it, and it’s so nice.”
It’s no secret that drinking plenty of water is good for you, and there are reasons why. The Eatwell Guide advises people should try to drink six to eight cups or glasses of fluid per day.
Drinks such as water, lower-fat milk and sugar-free drinks, including tea and coffee, all pass as a part of your daily intake. It’s noted you may need to drink more if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, in a hot environment, physically active for long periods or recovering from an illness.
As for children, the NHS says the best drinks to give them are water and milk, and now you can keep your drinks cold by adopting this simple cooling hack.
