Girl, 9, fights for life after being hit by South London bus with brother, 5, also in hospital

A brother and sister aged five and nine were rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus on Saturyda, August 3. The nine-year-old girl is critical, with her younger brother taken to hospital as a precaution.

The bus hit them on Watling Street, a residential street in Bexleyheath, near the junction with Halcot Avenue. Police, who were called just after 9am, are appealing to the public for any information they might have about the incident.

The male bus driver was arrested and has been taken into police custody where he remains. The children had been with a family member at the time and officers are providing support to their family.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the collision, who has not yet spoken with them, to call 101, quoting reference 2309/03Aug.
