Girl rushed to hospital after attack outside South London college

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after being attacked outside a South London college this afternoon (Thursday, November 27). Police have arrested a man on suspicion of assault.

Police were called to reports that a girl, who is understood to be a student at Merton College following online reports, had been assaulted. She was taken to hospital shortly after they arrived at around 12.52pm. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service said: “Police were called at 12:52pm on Thursday, 27 November to London Road in Morden following reports of an assault.

“The victim, a teenage girl was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Her injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

“A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody. Enquiries remain ongoing.”
