It’s that time of year again – folks from across the UK and beyond have packed their best waterproofs, favourite snacks, and a seemingly infinite supply of wet wipes, all set to descend on Glastonbury Festival 2025.

The festivities at Worthy Farm in Pilton officially commence today, with music, entertainment, and food stalls poised to greet approximately 200,000 attendees over the weekend.

Big names such as Charli xcx, The 1975, Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo, Biffy Clyro, and The Prodigy are all set to perform on the festival’s numerous stages from Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29. With tickets priced at £370, it’s not exactly a budget-friendly weekend – and after seeing the drink prices at the festival bars, some fans are less than thrilled.

A whopping 91 bars are operating at Glastonbury this year, according to Glastopedia. Some are branded, like the Aperol Spritz bar serving up its signature orange cocktails, while most others will offer the traditional selection of beers, ciders, and spirits.

However, fans have been expressing their views after spotting one of these typical bar menus on social media. In a photo taken by a festival attendee, it’s revealed that a pint of Brothers Pilsner is priced at £6.95, or £3.50 for a half, reports Somerset Live.

A pint of Brothers Festival Cider carries the same price tag, with Stonewall Inn IPA (draught) costing even more at £7.20 per pint.

People have swiftly voiced their opinions on the prices, some of which are higher then last year, with many taking to Facebook to express their dismay. One person labelled the increase ‘absolutely disgusting’.

“Wow, that’s expensive,” remarked a fan, and another added: “£6 for a can of brothers which is like £1.50 in Tesco.”

The debate extended to Reddit, where users criticised the cost of soft drinks as well. A comment read: “Pint prices are as expected, but £3 for half a pint of coke. Sheesh. Wonder if the stalls will be better value.”

However, some festival-goers are defending the pricing, suggesting it’s reasonable for such an event. On TikTok, one person posted: “Ngl I would be happy with that,” and another shared: “I’ve seen worse.”

“That’s fair enough for me.. they pay a fortune to get a stand at these festivals… and there no more than an average pub really,” wrote another music fan.
