People who stop at one of Britain’s most popular bakery chains before 11am can treat themselves to a cooked breakfast sandwich without lifting a finger. And, the popular Greggs deal is about to get a little bit better.
The early morning meal deal has often been a sandwich and drink combo for a long time – but fans are now able to add on something else to round off their first meal of the day. The elevated option will be finding its way into selected Greggs stores from today (July 25).
In the latest menu shake-up, Greggs has confirmed that customers now have an extra item to consider when grabbing their breakfast to go. Partnering up with the original offer, people can now “seriously upgrade” their meal, according to Greggs.
A spokesperson said: “In addition to the well-known and much-loved Breakfast Roll Deal and Breakfast Baguette Deal (featuring a tasty breakfast roll or baguette with a Fairtrade hot drink, OJ, or water), customers now have the option to add a side as Greggs has launched a three-part breakfast deal for the first time ever.
“The new deal gives customers the chance to add a delicious side of either a fresh fruit pot, creamy yoghurt or golden hash browns to their signature roll or baguette deal from just £3.95 for a roll or £5.10 for a baguette deal.”
Greggs sells hash browns in packs of two. There are two types of fruit pots at the popular bakery chain – melon and grape or strawberry and apple. The third side option involves a rich and thick Greek-style yoghurt layered on top of a fruity strawberry compote.
The news came during an update to Greggs’ summer menu revamp, which included a range of new sandwiches, including the Chipotle Chicken Flatbread, which is bursting with flavour at every bite. The new flatbread contains spicy chicken, chipotle chilli sauce, fresh salad leaves, mixed peppers, and spicy mayonnaise—a delicious and convenient option for lunch on the go.
Another sandwich option joining the menu is the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Oval Bite, which is loaded with slices of spicy chicken breast, pineapple chilli sauce, sliced mild Cheddar chilli cheese, crispy onions, spicy mayo and mixed leaves in a seeded roll.
And, available to eat both hot or cold, is the Chipotle Chicken Baguette. This sandwich is packed with delicious spicy chicken breast, Cheddar cheese with chilli, sliced red onion, fiery jalapeños and a dollop of chipotle chilli sauce and spicy mayo.
From today, the deal is available nationwide in selected Greggs stores. The new breakfast deal will also be available via Click and Collect on the Greggs App, which is free to download and offers a variety of tasty rewards.
