‘Grindr burglars’ allegedly did 35 robberies in 5 months

Four men have been charged after victims of a series of burglaries were allegedly targeted on dating app Grindr. The group is accused of carrying out 35 burglaries and 20 related frauds against 22 victims between October 2024 and March 2025.

Rahmat Khan Mohammadi, 22, of Weald Lane in Harrow, was arrested on Thursday, April 3, and charged on Saturday, April 5, with one count of theft, 17 counts of burglary and 12 fraud offences. He appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 5, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday, July 25.

Mohammed Bilal Hotak, 21, of Richmond Road in Hackney, was arrested on Thursday, April 24, and charged the following day on Friday, April 25. He appeared alongside Mohammadi at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday, May 23, charged with one count of theft, 14 burglaries and nine fraud offences.

He was also remanded in custody to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday, July 25. Mozamel Rahman, 29, of Sefton Avenue, Harrow, was arrested on Monday, April 7, and charged with three counts of burglary and two fraud offences on Thursday, June 26.

He appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 11, where he was bailed to attend the same court on Friday, August 8. Ibrahim Yaqobie, 28, of Masons Avenue in Harrow, was arrested on Wednesday, April 9, and charged on Wednesday, July 9, with the same offences as Rahman.

He has been bailed to appear at Willesden Magistrates Court on Friday, August 8. A trial date for both Mohammadi and Hotak has been set for Monday, October 13, at Isleworth Crown Court.
