A man has taken to social media to ask Haribo fans what they think the ‘key’ sweet in Tangfastics is meant to be, before the answer was finally revealed
Haribo enthusiasts previously learned a clever hack for opening sweet packets – and now, they’re finding out more about an iconic Tangfastics treat. Discussion arose on Reddit about the key-shaped sweet, which actually has a hidden meaning.
Wanting to settle a row he’d been having with his wife, one man asked: “After five years of marriage, we’ve just discovered that my wife and I refer to this particular Haribo sweet as something different to each other. What do you call this Haribo?”.
Views amongst users were divided, with some adamant it’s supposed to be a dummy, others convinced it’s a key, whilst one poster went against the crowd and said it’s actually a magnifying glass.
One person commented: “I used to call them keys before I found out they were dummies.”
Meanwhile another revealed: “I always thought they were meant to be a fizzy version of the ‘ring’ Haribos but dummy makes sense now that I take another look at it. Never liked Tangfastics though.”
Someone else confessed: “It was a key to me but I know they’re apparently dummies. But they’re clearly not dummies.”

So what is the truth? Thankfully, the team at Haribo have settled the matter once and for all, confirming the answer is indeed dummy.
Weighing in on the debate, one user pointed out: “Dummies, it says so on their packaging..”
At the same time, another user confirmed: “It’s a dummy. The things babies put in their mouths.”
It’s not the only Haribo discovery to go viral in recent months – as fans felt seriously misled after finding out the flavour of the green sweets.
While some thought it was a green-flavoured fruit like lime or apple, it’s actually something much different!
