Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet made a rare public appearance with parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Our Big Kitchen in Los Angeles as the family prepared food together

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been seen with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in a rare joint appearance in public.

Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, accompanied their parents as they visited Our Big Kitchen in Los Angeles, a voluntary organisation that provides meals for those in need across the California city. In a video montage shared by the Duchess of Sussex on Instagram, the pair appeared to be enjoying themselves as they helped prepare food with other children.

Harry and Meghan are meanwhile seen baking cookies, sliced vegetables and packed meals to be delivered ahead of Thanksgiving on November 27.

In one snap, Meghan smiles as she holds hands with daughter Lilibet, watching as Harry puts mince, rice and peppers into a tupperware box.

In a caption accompanying the montage, she wrote “Show up. Do Good”, the motto of the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation.

Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA) is one of the non-profit organisations supported by Archewell, which Meghan and Harry founded in 2020, shortly after stepping back as senior working royals.

A message posted on the foundation’s website today said: “As the season of giving begins, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, alongside the Archewell team, joined Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA) to prepare and package meals for community members experiencing food insecurity.

“OBKLA is a community-run nonprofit kitchen that brings people together to prepare and distribute fresh, high-quality meals for Angelenos facing hardship. The meals prepared will reach local schools, shelters, senior centres, and other community organizations serving our neighbours in need.

“Each year, OBKLA provides more than 70,000 nourishing meals while fostering a sense of care, connection, and belonging. Meals produced during our session were distributed to community-based organizations including Los Angeles Mercy Housing, Pico Union Project, and PATH.

“The Archewell Foundation remains committed to putting compassion into action—serving and uplifting communities locally and globally. As we head into the holiday season, we celebrate those working every day to ensure that no one is left behind and where the needs of our neighbors are met.”

Harry and Meghan currently live in a $30million (£22million) mansion in Montecito, California with Archie and Lilibet.

It’s not yet clear when the Duke of Sussex next plans to visit his homeland, with it highly unlikely he will join the Royal Family for Christmas. He most recently made his way back to Britain in September, when he spent around 55 minutes with his father King Charles during a meeting at Clarence House. The pair are said to have enjoyed a private tea.
