There’s nothing like finding a hidden gem when it comes to travel, and one woman recently discovered the ultimate experience. She found a picturesque spot where people can go kayaking “in the sky”

Sometimes we don’t know how lucky we are in the UK.

From exciting cities to quaint little villages – there’s always somewhere new and different to explore. But one woman was recently blown away by a beautiful part of the world where she was able to go “kayaking in the sky”.

The travel blogger, known as beautifulchaotictravel on TikTok, said there’s a part of North Wales that will really blow you away. She couldn’t get over just how amazing it is.

In the clip, she said: “Did you know that you can go kayaking in the sky in North Wales? Located close to the town of Llangollen, this aqueduct sits 126 foot, or 38 metres, above ground level – making it the tallest of its kind in the world.

“The aqueduct carries the Llangollen Canal over the River Dee. There’s a footpath you can walk along to take in the amazing views or, for something even cooler, you can go kayaking, canoeing or take a long boat along the canal. This is definitely one of the coolest and most unique things you can do in North Wales.”

Since she shared the video, it’s been liked more than 100,000 times. People think it looks amazing – and locals also admitted the area is “beautiful”.

One person said: “It’s the only place in the world I have ever felt genuine anxiety about being up high. It’s so gorge though.”

Another added: “This is cool, but so scary.” A third replied: “This looks like an amazing experience.”

Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “This looks amazing. Next time I visit Wales, I’ll be sure to visit. Thanks for the beautiful video.”

If the experience takes your fancy, you’ll be able to canoe over the highest aqueduct in the world, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. There’s lots to take in on the journey – from the incredible surrounding scenery of the Dee Valley to the amazing wildlife too.

But, as well as captivating people around the world with the video, the travel enthusiast also managed to make a few people giggle. That’s because, in the clip, as informative as it was, she didn’t pronounce Llangollen quite right.

One person replied, saying: “I’m sorry, but where? Do you mean Llangollen?” Another added: “Here for the comments on the pronunciation of Llangollen.”
