The man reportedly fractured his neck in the incident

Holly Willoughby has pleaded guilty to knocking a man off a scooter near her former West London home. The former This Morning presenter was driving her car at the time, with the accident leaving the man with a broken neck.

Holly was accused of the offence while driving in Barnes, West London, earlier this year on August 28. The presenter had lived nearby in a £3m mansion in Richmond, but is reported to have moved out of the city earlier this year to a plush £8m pad following the prosecution of her stalker, Gavin Plumb.

At a hearing held at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court on December 2, Holly entered her guilty plea for driving without due care and attention via post, opting not to appear in person.

In footage shown to the court, Holly can be seen failing to indicate as she turned right down a side street in her Mini Cooper. The scooter driving was overtaking her, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. It was later revealed that the scooter rider had sustained a broken neck, a fractured vertebra and a broken toe as a result of the incident.

The case was called under her married name Holly Baldwin. The presenter married TV producer Daniel Baldwin back in August 2007, but she is still known as Holly Willoughby professionally.

Holly walked away with six points on her licence, a £1,653 fine and was ordered to pay £130 in prosecution costs and £661 in victim surcharge.

Defending Holly, Aisling Byrnes said: “She has full remorse for this. This was not aggravated by excessive speed or anything with the weather conditions. However, this error is one which is completely out of character, she has an entirely clean driving record and is otherwise of exemplary character.”

The defence added: “She is extremely remorseful, she left her vehicle, she offered him her phone and water and she remained there until responders arrived.”

Holly Willoughby remains one of the most well-known UK TV personalities, even though she currently is without a prime time presenting slot for the first time in many years.

The former This Morning star has been tipped as a potential replacement for Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, reports the Daily Star.

While speaking to journalists at the Winter Wonderland preview evening in Hyde Park, the 44-year-old TV star said: “At the moment I’m just having a lovely time at home watching Strictly.”
