There have been two fatalities from a total of five stabbings and two shootings

Londoners have been left ‘panicked’ after a horrifying 24 hours of crime in the capital. There have been two fatalities from a total of five stabbings, including a woman killed in her home and a man knifed-to-death in a triple stabbing in Uxbridge. A double shooting in East London has also left two men in hospital.

The shocking spate of crime has left Londoners feeling unsettled. Wisam Salah, 18, who lives near the scene of the triple stabbing in Uxbridge, which left a 49-year-old man dead, said he was “extremely shocked” when he found out what had happened.

He added: “Yesterday I was out, I came home about 7pm. When I came home I saw multiple police cars, I think more than five. I was extremely confused”, he added: “everyone is really panicked.”

Pressure is mounting on Mayor of London Sadiq Khan from critics who say crime in London is spiralling out of control. Earlier this year, Donald Trump criticised Sadiq Khan and said that he has: “done a terrible job. Crime in London is through the roof… And when I see Mayor Khan do a bad job, the stabbings and the dirt and the filth, it’s not the same.” MyLondon has crunched the numbers here to see if crime in London is really going up or down.
