Glastonbury 2024 is in full swing and today sees an 80s legend take to the stage in Cyndi Lauper. The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun songstress is playing today (Saturday, June 29) on the Pyramid Stage between 2.30pm and 3.30pm to what will inevitably be a big crowd.
Her first solo album, She’s So Unusual, was released in 1983 and was the first debut album by a female artist to achieve four top-five hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then the musical trailblazer has released another 11 albums and even more hits.

Born Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper, she was born in Brooklyn but grew up in Queens, New York, and was the middle child with a younger brother and older sister.
Lauper’s first album came out in 1983 when the singer had turned 30. Lauper was born on June 22, 1973, which makes her 71 now.
