Coldplay has been forced to reschedule two London tour dates due to planned industrial action on the London Underground. The band is currently travelling the globe as part of their Sphere tour, but has struck off planned gigs in the capital on Sunday, September 7, and Monday, September 8.
The band began their 10-night stint at Wembley Stadium on Friday 22 August, going on to play shows on Saturday 23 August, Tuesday 26 August, and Wednesday 27 August. Coldplay had six shows left to play at the stadium, two dates in August – Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 – then four in September – Wednesday 3, Thursday 4, Sunday 7 and Monday 8.
The two cancelled tour dates on Sunday 7 September and Monday 8 September will now take place on Saturday 6 September and Friday 12 September. Tickets bought will remain valid for their rescheduled dates.
Coldplay tickets are limited for London dates on Ticketmaster. However, hopeful fans can find tickets on resale websites such as VIAGOGO, VIVID SEATS, and STUBHUB.
These platforms provide fans with the chance to buy and sell tickets freely, regardless of how close it is to the concert date. Prices begin from £162 for September dates, but they may vary depending on the day the tickets are purchased.
Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.

Regarding the rescheduled gigs, a Coldplay spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to announce that, due to planned industrial action on the London Underground, we’ve been forced to reschedule our final two concerts of the current Wembley Stadium run.
“Without a Tube service, it’s impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of 7 and 8 September. To avoid cancelling the shows, our only option is to reschedule.”
They continued: “The Sunday 7 September show will move to Saturday 6 September. The Monday 8 September show will move to Friday 12 September. All tickets will remain valid for their rescheduled date.
“The shows on Saturday 30 August, Sunday 31 August, Wednesday 3 September and Thursday 4 September will go ahead as scheduled. We’re very sorry for the inevitable disappointment, frustration and inconvenience that this situation causes.”
