One of the biggest and most quintessentially British sporting events of the year is fast approaching. The 138th Wimbledon Championships will be held in South West London this June and July, and it’s still possible to get in, even if you don’t have a ticket yet.

Most tickets are secured via the Wimbledon Public Ballot, which has now closed for 2025. But don’t worry, there are plenty of other ways you can watch some of the best tennis players in the world – and grab some strawberries and cream.

Wimbledon 2025 began on June 23 and will finish on July 13. The 2025 Championships will commence on Monday June 30 and will finish on Sunday July 13.

The Queue

But how to get a ticket if you don’t already have one? One of the most popular, options – especially on a sunny day – is to get in The Queue.

As well as being one of the most British things ever created, The Queue is simply a long queue that starts early in the morning, or sometimes even the night before.

Your patience will be rewarded with either a limited Show Court ticket or a Grounds ticket, depending on how much space there is inside the Grounds. Tickets are sold on a best-available, one-per-person queuing basis and are non-transferable.

All members of The Queue will need to download the Wimbledon app and create a myWIMBLEDON account, which will also give you live updates throughout the day. 500 tickets for Centre Court (excluding the last four days), No.1 Court, and No.2 Court will be sold for each day the courts are in play.

Tickets will cost anywhere from £20 through to £275, depending on which day and which court you want to watch.

Resale kiosk

If you can’t face a very early start in the morning, there’s also the option of getting a resale ticket from the on-site Resale Kiosk from someone who has left for the day. These tickets cost between £5 and £10 and proceeds are donated to charity via the Wimbledon Foundation.

Online Resale

The online resale via MyWimbledon works if you applied for the original ballot but weren’t successful in securing tickets.

You get access to the ticketing sale section of the site which updates as any official resale tickets come in. It’s worth checking regularly as it’s pot luck when resale tickets are made available.

The page shows tickets for each court on different days, as and when they become available.

Exclusive American Express packages

However, for those who don’t have the patience to queue can instead opt for exclusive packages just for American Express Cardmembers.

While these Wimbledon hospitality packages have now sold out for 2025, you can buy exclusive tickets in the presale for 2026 from the Keith Prowse website, an official partner of Wimbledon.

Starting from £885 per person plus VAT, these packages aren’t cheap, but they give you access to Centre Court along with a private table in a restaurant, traditional afternoon tea, wine, Champagne and cocktails plus live music. You must pay with your American Express card.

Quick tips for securing tickets

Have your payment details ready

Ensure you have your card details to hand to process the tickets as quickly as possible. If you check the resale page daily, ensure you’re prepared in the case that there are tickets available.

Try different ticket quantities

If your first choice isn’t available, try changing the number of tickets you require and seeing if that makes a difference.

Consider multiple events

If you want to experience Wimbledon, try not to be too picky about attending a specific event. The more open you are, the higher the chances you have of securing a ticket.
