Hunt for three men after North London victim shot at and stabbed in his car

The victim is said to be ‘incredibly fortunate’ to be alive after the ‘brutal attack’

Police wish to question three men after a “brutal attack” in North London in which a 32-year-old man was shot at and then stabbed in his car, shortly after another 18-year-old man escaped being shot during a hair-raising foot chase. The injured victim is said to be “incredibly fortunate to be alive” following the incident on Park Avenue, at the junction with Green Lanes, Enfield, on Thursday, June 12.

Police were called at around 11pm to reports a man had fired a gun at the victim while he was sat in his car, narrowly missing him. Just seconds later, it’s reported another man then approached the vehicle and stabbed the victim through the driver’s side door. The victim suffered serious back injuries and was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Around half an hour before the attack, it’s understood that the suspect with the firearm tried to shoot an 18-year-old man after a foot chase, narrowly missing him.

Luckily the stab victim has now made a full recovery. Police wish to question the three men pictured as they believe they may hold important information about the events of that night.

Detective Constable Joe Halsey of the Met’s Specialist Crime Team, said: “A man was brutally attacked suffering serious injuries, and he is incredibly fortunate to be alive. My team continues to follow all possible lines of enquiry in this investigation and have already carried out extensive reviews of witness statements, as well as CCTV and forensic work which has led to us identifying multiple suspects.

“If you recognise any of the men in the photos we are issuing or have details on their current whereabouts, please contact us without delay.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting investigation reference 01/7607769/25. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org.
