A woman felt defeated when she got no feedback from job applications she’d applied for – but thankfully, a friend showed her a method to get her quickly noticed by employers

A woman who applied for over 65 jobs and heard nothing back has landed a new role thanks to her genius and “foolproof” method for making sure employers see her CV.

The pain of going through never-ending applications, tests, and interviews for job roles, only to hear nothing back or met with ‘thank you for your application’ emails and calls can be soul-destroying. And that’s what happened to Cami Petyn initially.

The US musician was “terrified” after she applied for 65 jobs over a few weeks and did not hear anything back. She was hoping to get a job alongside focusing on her music career. The young woman, who shared what happened via her TikTok page @camipetyn, became concerned that she would have to sell items and move if she couldn’t find a job.

Thankfully her friend Dylan told her a hack that resulted in her landing not one, not two, but three part-time jobs – leaving the musician relieved. “[I] wanted to shared this hack because it helped me so much,” she said.

Cami said that she believes the reason she got no call backs is because many companies use artificial intelligence to help HR sort through applications before they reach human eyes – rejecting those who don’t match with the job requirements.

She added: “AI is causing a lot of us not to get jobs. A lot of employers are using AI to scan resumes before they even read them because of the influx of people applying. AI will scan the resume to see if it is a good fit for the job. The problem is that AI will say you’re not a good fit if it can’t read the resume. I’m sorry, I’m a human I don’t know how to make a resume AI friendly.”

To combat this, Cami says firstly you need to go to the job description where it is listed. Then you should highlight the entire job description and copy and paste it into your resume. Cami added the text on your CV needs to be “super tiny and in white ink” to be AI friendly. “Your resume will look like it’s a great fit,” she explained.

This method does mean there is extra work to do for the applicant. Petyn added: “This does mean who have to alter your résumé for every job you apply to which heavily sucks. But you know what sucks more, panicking about not having a job.”

The musician said using the hack lead to her getting a “quick reply” from employers. “I’m very, very grateful,” she added.

Hundreds flocked to the comment section on the content creator’s video. One individual commented: “I applied to over 1,000 jobs in a year and heard back from four. Did this and heard back a day later five months ago. It works.”

Another individual who found success with the method wrote: “I literally made mine AI friendly. I’m 18 and now work at a job getting paid $22 an hour full time, love it.” One other pointed out: “It’s absolutely true because sometimes I’ll mass apply to jobs and check 10 mins later and it says it has already been viewed and denied.”

“In this era, we have to ‘befriend’ AI or we will most probably get left behind,” added another.
