Brides are raving about a cheap wedding dress which is “very good” quality and said to look “identical” to the pictures online.
Your wedding day is all about committing to a lifetime with the one you love – often surrounded by family and friends. But, there’s no denying that high ranking on the wedding planning priority list is the bride’s wedding dress. There’s a lot of pressure for it to feel perfect for the big day, plus the endless fittings and stunning gown can cost a fortune.
Bridebook reports that the average amount people spend on a wedding dress is around £1,300. But some thrifty brides say they spent just £13.77 on a wedding dress found on the Shein website.
The hugely popular fast fashion retailer sells a range of cheap products on their website, offering shoppers an alternative to high-end prices, whether it’s dresses or accessories. The wedding gown is described as the ‘Shein Belle contrast lace cloak sleeve mock neck chiffon maxi dress without veil’. It is currently available is sizes 6 (XS), 8 (S), 10 (M), 12/14 (L). The dress was originally prices at £40.49, but thanks to the fashion giant’s 66% discount it is now less than £14.
And it appears that the dress is totally worth it; people cannot stop raving about it. A number of people pointed out the good quality material of the product. “It’s very good quality,” one happy bride said. “I like the material, it’s exactly like the photos,” added one other.
One other said: “Very good material very satisfied with the process and so comfy. On time delivery. Worth to buy.” Another shopper commented: “Very comfortable, quality material, does not fall off, I received what I ordered.”
Another rated the product but decided it was not for them, adding: “Nice but doesn’t fit my body type.” Others said they “love it” and it is “well made” and two described it as “magnificent”. The dress has been inundated with five star reviews on the Shein website.
Recently, another Shein shopper went viral after being excited about a “beautiful” dress she purchased on the website, before realising a mortifying detail. The last thing she expected was for people to point out something rude about the seemingly innocent motif. As Maddy moves away from the camera, it becomes clear that the pattern is actually a flower. Still, people can’t un-see the cheekier alternative which left them in stitches – a sex toy.
In 2023 another piece of Shein clothing left people confused as one pair of shorts left little to the imagination. Many said the item looks more like a thong than something you’d wear out and about, and some said they may “never walk again” after trying them on thanks to how short they were.
