A man shared an innovative way he managed to get back at his nightmare neighbours every single time they get a little bit too loud, and people found it hilarious
If your neighbours are consistently being loud, the temptation might be to scream ‘shut up’ at the top of your lungs , but you’ll resist in order to keep the peace. You might put your headphones in and listen to your favourite playlist or audiobook to keep yourself sane, and hope that by the time you’ve had enough, they’ve finished banging around.
However, one man, named Jack, who posts on Instagram as @jackcoopxr, decided to take things to another level to pay his neighbours back when they were being too loud, leaving people on Instagram in stitches. “True story,” he penned as the caption of the short clip.
He showed a video of himself working in bed on his iPad, trying to be productive and creative. However, all he could hear was his neighbours being annoying.
Over the top of the video, he wrote: “Sometimes when my neighbours are being a bit loud, I pretend I have a dog that’s getting irritated by the noise, so then they’ll shut up”.
It’s a genius idea, and it seems to really work for him, and in the video, he demonstrated himself pretending to be a dog.
He barked like a very convincing dog, and at the top of his voice screamed: “Sashimi, shut up!” Then he howled like some dogs would, and he yelled, “Sashimi!” again, adding: “The neighbours are gonna hear you!”
Of course, all the neighbours would be able to hear was him, barking like a dog, and shouting at his fictional dog – but what they don’t know cannot hurt them.
The ‘dog’ continued to bark, and he said: “Sashimi! That is enough,” getting into character and pointing his Apple Pencil at the fake animal.
In the comments, someone joked: “Honey, the neighbour is pretending to be a dog again, we have to be quiet”.
“Sashimi is a shih tzu. I can just picture it,” another added.
One woman wrote: “I love how he looks at the imaginary dog as if it were actually there,” finding it hilarious that he was getting into character with the role, almost convincing himself that Sashimi isn’t just him pretending to bark like an irritated dog.
While another added: “The best part about this is you can start this whenever you wan.”
An Instagram user pointed out that doing this truly was a win-win situation, because even if the neighbours did realise that it was him barking like a dog, they would be so stunned by what was going on that they’d finally be quiet and stop doing whatever it was that they were doing before.
“And even if they know the barking is you, that’ll still stun them into silence,” she joked.
