Legally Blonde and The Other Woman are among countless rom-coms that have shown us that getting revenge on an ex can be tempting – but one woman admits she took this to a whole new extreme
Getting revenge on an ex that broke your heart can be incredibly tempting, but one woman has taken this to another level with what she calls ‘revenge confetti’.
The 30-year-old said she was left devastated after catching her husband snogging a man right outside the home they shared together. But after crying, sniffling and getting all the sadness out of her system, all she felt was anger. And that’s when she started plotting.
“I said nothing when my husband walk into our home and continued being silent on this matter until I fully processed what I had saw,” she explained in an anonymous Reddit post. “After moping and being sad all I had was anger. I stalked them.”
While following the secret couple’s movements, she took countless photographs to use as evidence when the time felt right. This eventually took place one day at her husband’s work office where she took a controversial move.
“I went to my husband’s work place and simply started throwing them [the photos] like confetti and left,” she continued.
“Here’s where I might be the ****hole: My sister is bi and when she heard what I did she was angry at me, for outing him so publicly. We live in a pretty conservative country, where only recently LGBTQ+ marriages were legalised. So she said even if I was mad at him I shouldn’t be using his identity to harm him.”
Many users in two minds over the woman’s dramatic reaction. “They were making out in public so they clearly didn’t care about privacy,” one person wrote. “And worse still they were making out in a place where you were likely to see them so not the ****hole!”
Others were adamant that relationship drama should stay out of the workplace at all costs. One added: “The workplace isn’t the place for relationship drama. You’re an ****hole.”
Another also wrote: “You threw your problems in others faces. Most people would be embarrassed to have to witness that. Show some self respect and handle your business.”
In spite of these comments, the Reddit user bluntly confessed: “If he wasn’t bi and I had other dirt on him I would have absolutely used that to ruin his life. I have zero care about his well-being.”
