A man took to social media to share how he had forgotten his mum’s birthday, but after looking online to find out when it was – he then discovered a major bombshell
We all know it’s pretty standard to remember a family member’s birthday each year, especially when it comes to your nearest and dearest.
Whether it’s a brother, sister or your parents, it’s always heartwarming to make those special people feel appreciated. But let’s face it, sometimes life just gets in the way and you might end up forgetting their important date.
That’s exactly what happened to one man who shockingly admitted he forgot his own mum’s birthday. And when he finally decided to ring her up, things took a turn for the worse.
Taking to social media, the man shared his blunder on Fesshole a popular spot on X, previously known as Twitter, where users reveal massive bombshells and saucy secrets to an audience of over 1 million followers.
In a viral thread which attracted over 10,000 views and a flurry of responses, he confessed: “I forgot when my mum’s birthday, so made an Ancestry account to find it.”
But then, the plot thickened. While he apparently used the family history site, he learned she wasn’t his biological mum after all and he was adopted.
He claimed: “Turns out she’s not my mum, I’m adopted. But I managed to find her birthday so at least that’s sorted.” As soon as he made the claim on the popular thread, the comments section went into meltdown.
One person reacted: “That’s terrible. I told my adopted son that he’s adopted. Every single time I was disappointed with him, all through his childhood.” Another added: “That had to be such a surprise for you… relatively speaking of course.”
Meanwhile, a third was baffled: “How can anyone not know the date of their mum’s birthday?” While a fourth slammed: “Never happened.” And someone else posted: “And you did this without her date of birth, aye?”
