A woman has issued a warning to women in a relationship who rely on their partner financially, after her experience as a stay at home fiancée turned into disaster
A young woman has gone “from rags to riches” after living a life of luxury as a stay at home fiancée – but when the couple called it quits she was left with nothing.
Rose Davis, 28, was able to enjoy luxury holidays, fancy meals, designer clothing, and would travel in fancy cars, thanks to her former partner’s job. While he went off to work, she happily stayed at home and took care of the house work and prepared meals for her partner for when he came home.
She often proudly showed off her life online via her TikTok page @rosedavisx. But her once envious lifestyle has completely changed; unfortunately things didn’t work out between the pair when they went their separate ways. Rose shared how much her life has change – admitting her struggles – and issued a warning to other women.
Explaining why the relationship ended, Rose said: “It was always fun and luxury, he was very kind and generous and an amazing lifestyle. We just weren’t compatible in the end.”
Speaking about her current situation, she commented: “I’m a former stay at home fiancée and I’m telling you don’t do it. I’m currently working two minimum wage jobs to get myself back on my feet.
“I got my couch for £30 off marketplace and it’s basically taking me a lot of effort and a lot of struggle to get back on my feet after being a stay at home fiancée for two years not working, living a life of luxury.
“And then once you decide to get out of that. I guess everyone is going to be like ‘I told you so’ but if I can help someone. Girl, don’t do it.”
Reacting to the video, a number of people shared their advice. One commented: “Have an allowance and save in case this is the outcome.” One other added: “Girl you had two years of luxury. You’re well rested and ready for a new adventure.”
“Always maintain your financial independence,” added one other. A third other wrote: “Always demand an allowance and save that if you want to stay home.”
Cheering Rose on, another said: “You will get there.” While a fifth chimed in: “You’re still young and can grow from here.”
