‘I found a cheap Sky Sports deal that also gets me Netflix for free’

I’ve been looking for a new Sports TV plan for a while and this latest Sky deal has convinced me to upgrade as the provider launched savings of as much as £432

It’s no secret that getting the right TV packages to stay updated on your sports team can be an expensive hobby, whether you want to watch every Premier League kick-off, Formula 1 session, or Rugby league match. Since getting an apartment of my own I’ve been waiting for the right time to take out a sports TV package, often debating between various providers and bundles.

BT’s TNT Sports channels have certainly caught my eye since their launch, available through the EE network you can get four TNT channels and 12 Sky Sports channels with NOW Sports but while its free Apple TV+ offer is appealing, you have to add broadband too… and that’s a household staple I already have.

This is where its nifty Discovery+ Premium (including TNT sport) plan comes in at just £20 a month, it’s an ideal option with the four main TNT Sports channels, Eurosport 1 and 2 is thrown in for free and its biggest appeal has to be its one-month rolling contract….. but it doesn’t offer any choice of Sky Sports or its perks.

Sky Sports is a top pick in our house down to personal favourite pundits and post-match content, so it’s a no-brainer for us, not to mention that another option Virgin Media doesn’t run in our area. And the newest Sky Stream, Sky TV, Sport, and Netflix deal may just make it the best time for us to bite the bullet.

Usually £46 a month, it’s dropped to just £26 for the first month. When compared to other sports plans it’s pricey but when you look at its Sky stream box-set, free Netflix plan and other access to hundreds of Sky TV channels (all on top of nine Sky Sports picks) it seems like money well spent… to us anyway.

After month one it does rise to the usual rate, but it’ll give fans the chance to save £26 in the first month, a deal that rarely stays around for long. Another perk to this is that it’ll also give you the option to add fellow binge-worthy channels to your package for a slightly discounted rate, like Sky Kids for an extra £6 a month and Sky Cinema for another £10 a month.

Of course, in competition with the likes of BT’s free Apple TV+ Sky chooses a Netflix freebie instead with its inclusive basic standard with adds plan, something that usually costs £4.99 a month or £59.88 a year. However, if the interruption of adverts on Netflix doesn’t suit you, you can upgrade to the other packages for an extra fee.

Sky’s two-day flash sale

On Friday the provider launched a surprise flash sale, where it dropped the price of its TV packages, and added swanky features to its usual Sky Stream, Sky TV, and Netflix bundles. Its Sky Stream, Sky TV, Sky Sport and Netflix package that we chose above is currently has Ultra HD included in the package for a cheaper £42 a month (for the swanky UHD feature), that’s a saving of £180 across the full 18-month contract.

The biggest saving comes with its Sky TV, Sky Stream. Cinema, UHD, and Kids plan which will save viewers a huge £432 across the full 18-month plan – at £49 a month. However, as suggested in the sale name the price drops won’t be around for long, and finish early on Monday May 20.
