The latest £13 beauty box from Lookfantastic’s monthly subscription includes must-haves from Rodial, Sol de Janeiro and Wella

It’s not every day that a beauty product stops you in your tracks and has you wanting to stock up on said item as much as possible. Well, when I received the latest beauty box from Lookfantastic’s subscription service, that was exactly what happened.

Let me explain: the Lookfantastic beauty box is a monthly service that sends you, for £13 a month or £15 for a one-off, six gorgeous products to try for a fraction of the cost it would be to buy them all separately. Items could include something that’s relatively new, a trending must-have or a classic best-seller.

And Lookfantastic’s latest offering, which is worth over £50, had names like Rodial and Sol de Janeiro included as well as three products that well and truly blew me away and, without this beauty box, I may never have tried them myself.

First was the travel-sized Wella Fusion Hair Mask that is usually worth £10. Now, for context, my hair is pretty textured and has a bit of a curl to it but, after years of damage by going blonde, it constantly dried flat and looked a bit dull. I have tried a plethora of masks from Olaplex to Imbue and none quite had the same effect as this.

The Wella Fusion Hair Mask, as described by Lookfantastic, is a treatment that ‘protect[s] against the look of brittle ends and breakage, the Wella Professionals Care Fusion Intense Repair Mask plumps the hair fibres with moisture to promote a stronger, fuller look.’

But that’s not all. With Silksteel Fusion Technology, the product contains silk amino acids and micronized lipids to deeply nourish, smooth and hydrate your locks to leave them truly luscious. Plus, the Wella’s Metal Purifier complex in the formula defends the lengths from metals present in water.

Now all of this proved a welcome concoction for my recovering hair as it well and truly puffed some magic into it and left it larger than life in the best way – and that’s a feat for my shoulder length locks.

It felt silky smooth too – which is not often the case – and the shine was incredible. With the full-size tub currently retailing at £21.75, it’s certainly a product that’s going straight in my basket come payday.

The next beauty buy that I’m sticking on my wishlist, come the end of the month, is the ESPA bath and shower gel, which costs £20 for a full size at Lookfantastic.

While £20 is a little steep for shower gel, my experience of it combined a shower gel and body fragrance all in one as not only did it leave you clean and fresh in the shower, but the jasmine and bergamot scent lingered on my skin for the entire day. And it wasn’t just a hint of it either – it was relatively pungent.

It’s no wonder the product consistently receives high calibre reviews, with shoppers exclaiming: “Loved this wash from my beauty box. Surprised how lovely the lather was. Smelt gorgeous and left my skin soft & hydrated. Would 100% buy this in future.”

Another remarked: “Everyone needs this in their daily shower, the nicest smelling product.” And I completely agree – who wouldn’t want a ‘spa-like’ experience in their own shower?

The third is the Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-Balm – Coconutter, which gave my dry and sunburnt lips a new lease of life thanks to its hydrating formula that is packed with goodies like lanolin – which has a molecular structure that mimics human skin lipids, coconut oil and vitamin E to hydrate and protect against external stressors.

Now, while I’ve been mostly using this wonder product, which retails at £8.99, on my lips, it can also help treat cuticles, cracked heels, insect bites and more. It’s an all rounder that is, yes, a bit pricier than your Nivea and Carmex, but is worth it thanks to the healing properties it offers your skin.

While I love the coconut smell that transports me to more tropical climates, I may test out the other flavours – green apple, peach, watermelon or strawberry.

Although those three products are my hero items from the Lookfantastic beauty box this month, the remaining three products were equally as dreamy but didn’t blow me away quite as much – personally.

They were:

What I love about the Lookfantastic box is that it allows me to test out products that I may not naturally go for whether it be too expensive or just something I’ve not yet seen, for way cheaper than they would be at full price for a full size. Plus, with the summer holidays creeping closer, it’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on travel-sized products.

And I’m not the only one who thinks so as shoppers have given the subscription box a 4.5 star rating on Lookfantastic, with over 7,000 supporting reviews.

One of which said: “These boxes get better and better. Great selection of treats this month, perfect for taking in holiday. Love it.”

Another wrote: “This has more lovely product and smells in this months box. Love the body been wanting to try this for awhile. The ESPA smells so calming and relaxing. The lip oil leaves my lips soft.”

Although one shopper wasn’t too keen on the sponge in this month’s box and said: “Good little box. I enjoyed everything but the sponge, it was like sandpaper.”

Now, if you’re after a beauty box, Lookfantastic isn’t the only brand that offers a subscription service like this. Elsewhere shoppers love Glossybox’s £13.50 monthly subscription box as well as Boots’ limited edition beauty boxes, which rival that of Lookfantastic.
