A social media star who is strapped for cash has auctioned off a date with herself for £500.

A strapped-for-cash woman has auctioned off a date with herself for £500 and she claimed tickets sold out within an hour.

Social media star Nahara Cardenas, whose account boasts 12,000 followers, revealed the unusual dating competition on her page, announcing: “Because money, shame and a boyfriend are things I don’t have, I will do a raffle.”

The content creator further laid out five rules for those who wished to participate. She outlined: “1. The winner will have the right to an appointment with me for a whole day, 10 hours maximum, no matter the time.”

“2. The winner chooses the place as long as it is not a motel, hotel or house. 3. It should not interfere with my work hours.”

“4. At the first sign of inappropriate comments or touches, you’ll be called out and the date will be cancelled without any compensation. 5. The winner will be announced when all the numbers are filled.”

Her post swiftly gathered over 3,300 likes and hundreds of comments from intrigued fans. Among them, Valeria expressed her interest saying: “I want one.”

Another hopeful participant chimed in: “May the best one win!!”. Someone else praised Nahara’s unconventional method of dating commenting: “Wow what a good idea.”

Whilst one other person encouraged her and typed: “Success bby.” Another expressed their eagerness and stated: “Coming for your raffle.” Someone else affirmed that the strategy was clever, posting: “The idea is good.”

Nahara then posted 54 tickets up for grabs at £9 each – totalling almost £500. According to What’s The Jam, she declared they were snapped up within just one hour.

Nahara, from Mexico, announced the winner of the raffle last Friday, 5 July, while on a live stream. Using a name generator app she shared how the winner was a young man who bought most of the tickets.

The couple are yet to plan their date but it has been said that the lucky man is over the moon.
