A blogger is sent social media into a frenzy after sharing what he picked up for £50
It’s reasonable to expect that a Harrods lunch will likely cost more than a typical supermarket meal deal. However, foodies have been left stunned after a blogger showcased his £50 lunch from the luxury department store, as he claimed he only got four items for his money.
In a video shared on his TikTok, Carmie Sellitto (@touchdalight) showed what he got for his money when he opted for a £50 Harrods lunch, telling his 1.1 million followers: “I can’t believe I spent £50 on this.”
Admittedly, Carmie didn’t opt for a cheap selection, choosing a wagyu steak sandwich as one of the items in his lunch.
Nonetheless, viewers were shocked by the grand total, even though Carmie said some of the food was the best he’s ever eaten. Introducing his video, Carmie said: “Let’s try a £50 lunch from Harrods.
“The fact that I only got four things and it cost that much is crazy.” Showing off his selection in the video, he shared: “Okay, so for my main meal, I’ve got a £28 wagyu steak sandwich.
“The bottom of the sandwich is quite soggy, but I’m assuming it’s because they warmed it up, so that’s why. So I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for that.”
He continued: “That has to be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten in my life. I can’t lie to you.
“It’s honestly unreal. This sandwich is getting a 10 out of 10.”
For his drink, Carmie opted for £6 watermelon juice “Oh, that is the purest watermelon juice ever.
“That’s getting a 9 out of 10,” he praised. The blogger continued: “I also picked up something I’ve never had before, which is a salad.
“This is actually two salads in one. I got the artichoke slaw and the potato salad.”
While Carmie thought the salad was “really good”, he said he wouldn’t choose it again because of his personal preferences and rated it 7.5. Last but not least, he sampled a dessert.
“This is probably what I’m most excited for,” Carmie told viewers. “It’s this, like, red fruit cheesecake slice.
“Look how bougie that looks. Guys, it’s so bougie, it even has gold on, also look at that logo on there.
“Has to be the best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten in my life. This is getting a 9. 5 out of ten.”
The video quickly went viral, gaining over one million views. One social media user thought: “£50 is OUTRAGEOUS.”
Someone asked: “What’s in the food? GOLD.”
Another comment said: “Bro a meal deal going from £3 to £3.50 was horrible enough.” A viewer added: “Even at gunpoint, I’d have refused to pay and left the items there.
“That’s daylight robbery.” However, others thought the price was reasonable given the items.
One such reply said: “It’s wagu steak – of course it’s going to cost! The carvery is a great deal.”
A commenter added: “I’d pay that for that sandwich anyday looks unreal,” and someone replied: “The Harrods food hall is always worth every penny.”
