The Kimpton Fitzroy London has teamed up with Anthropologie to offer guests the chance to rent trending accessories during their weekend stay. Fashion editor Lauren Goodwin-Grafton tested out the service
I must admit, I’m guilty of always over-packing. A mere overnight trip has me lugging what feels like the entire kitchen sink. Despite valiant efforts to cut down, my attempts at travelling light invariably fail. From day to night and everything in between, my suitcase bursts with options for every conceivable scenario – a necessity in the UK’s capricious climate where deciding on attire can be a gamble.
My penchant for fashion undoubtedly shines through with an assortment of accessories to complement each ensemble. Are you an incessant over-packer or prone to leaving essentials behind? Fear not! A hotel has partnered with my much-loved brand, Anthropologie, to banish packing woes and add flair to your upscale city break.
The Kimpton Fitzroy London has just introduced its Forgot It? We’ve Got It! Anthropologie Accessories Collection, a service which promises “to ease packing stress, lighten your carry-on and add a little extra oomph to your travel style.” This initiative seems tailor-made for someone like me.
So, how does it all work? It’s as simple as it sounds and there’s no catch to this fantastic free service. My sister Chloe and I checked in at the hotel’s marble-clad reception and scanned the QR code to see what was currently available for us to borrow.
If you’re a fashionista who loves keeping up with the latest trends, you’ll be thrilled to know that the collections on offer are seasonal, ensuring you have access to the most coveted pieces from the brand. With summer in full swing, sunglasses are also on the menu, perfect for sunny sightseeing days around London.
After perusing the accessory menu, we both decided on our evening’s arm candy. Chloe opted for the Mini bead shoulder bag £78 here which is currently available to buy online in black, lime and red, while I chose one of the brand’s best-selling styles, the Melie Bianco Larissa woven faux-leather shoulder bag, £88 here- it’s a particular favourite of mine.
This particular piece comes in an array of shades including red, rose and gold if metallics are more your vibe come cocktail hour. As a fan of gold jewellery, I also rented the chunky molten choker bracelet, you’ll find the matching choker necklace online for £48 here. We then got ready for dinner and took our new accessory pals out to the stunning Fitz Brassiere located within the hotel.
In addition to their brilliant fashion collaboration, there are countless reasons to book a stay at this chic, historic London hotel. Explore the luxurious linens in the sophisticated suites, the breathtaking art deco Mirrorball Room at Fitz with a cocktail menu that unveils your personality, and the five-star cuisine in the Brassiere featuring seasonal produce and a tranquil atmosphere away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
The Kimpton Fitzroy is undeniably a gem in the heart of London – I’ll definitely be returning, but next time with a slightly lighter weekend bag….
