If you’re desperate to try out the latest beauty launches and most viral products, this is the box for you – and you’ll save over £100 on the contents, too
I spend more hours than I care to admit scrolling through my TikTok For You Page and Instagram reels, but as a result, I’m the go-to person for my friends and family when it comes to the latest launches and viral sensations.
However, if I were to purchase each and every new and trending product that captures my attention, I’d soon be in my overdraft. But health and beauty retailer Boots has come to the rescue of makeup and skincare enthusiasts with their latest beauty box.
The high street chain’s New & Trending Beauty Box features a selection of the latest brands to launch at the retailer, as well as those coveted beauty buys you’ve been seeing everywhere on social media. Worth over £145, shoppers can pick it up for £45, saving a whopping £100 on the contents, meaning you can stock up your makeup and skincare stash without totally splashing out.
Over the last 12 months, I’ve unboxed several Boots beauty boxes, but this particular one has got me the most excited, featuring some of my favourite products and some I’ve been dying to try.
My top three products inside the latest box has to be:
-
ELF Power Grip Primer 24ml – full size
-
BYOMA Barrier+ Reapir Treatment 50ml – full size
-
L’Oreal Elvive Glycolic Gloss 200ml – full size
The ELF Power Grip primer, usually £10, has long been one of my favourites having been hailed a ‘dupe’ of the Milk Hydro Grip primer for £25 less. And since Milk recently launched at Boots, I’ve finally had the chance to compare the two, and I can see why the affordable alternative has been so popular on socials.
It’s got a sticky, gel-like consistency and becomes very tacky, almost glue-like which smoothes and blurs your complexion while gripping your makeup. Every time I have used the ELF primer (this is my third tube, now) my makeup has always lasted all day and looks as flawless hours later as it did on application.
Then there’s the L’Oreal Elvive Glycolic Gloss, which is a five minute lamination treatment similar to a deep conditioner or mask. A bottle of this is usually £15.99 and let me tell you, it’s worth every penny. I’ve got a love-hate relationship with haircare products and find many leave build-up in my hair, but this treatment gives me salon-fresh locks every time without fail, and has transformed my dull hair into a smooth, shiny and glass-like mane. I can’t stop telling people to feel how soft it is.
And while I hadn’t previously tried the BYOMA Barrier+ Reapir Treatment, it was one of the products I was most excited to try out. I’ve been using the Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier repair cream of late, and while I love it, it retails at £62 and I’m hopeful that this Byoma option could be a much more affordable but just as effective alternative, coming in at a more purse friendly £16.99. The New and Trending box has given me the opportunity to try out the cheaper moisturiser for an average price of £3.20, which is even more of a steal if it does measure up to the high-end brand.
Diving deeper into the haul, some of the newest launches of 2024 include the Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench Body Butter, which is much thicker and richer than the iconic Bum Bum Cream from the brand, with a warm and comforting fragrance combining plum, vanilla, violet, and amber.
The No7 Define & Enhance Mascara is another addition I couldn’t wait to get my mitts on after Daily Star’s Tiffany Lo raved about how it transformed her ‘stubbornly straight lashes’. The buildable volume formula doesn’t clump after multiple coats, giving lashes maximum volume and full, natural definition, without flaking or transferring.
And if you’re not already convinced, the New and Trending box also includes a Lustrous Liquid Eyeshadow from Ariana Grande’s beauty brand r.e.m, as well as a 17 highlighter wand that’s been compared to much more expensive versions and a Natural Collection Clear Mascara in new, revamped packaging, which could hint at some big news for the retailer.
I think out of all the products included, the only one I’d be unlikely to use is the Curls mith Hold Me Softly Style Balm, but what doesn’t work for me and my hair type could be someone else’s holy grail.

Of the contents, nine of the products are full sized with the remaining five being deluxe samples, with some coming in really handy for travel wash bags or stocking fillers.
Other new beauty boxes available at the high-street store include a REN skincare edit for £45, with contents worth £102, as well as a £40 ‘Just For You’ bundle (worth £123.71). Elsewhere, though, Lookfantastic’s new edit in partnership with ESPA is the perfect treat to help you unwind, relax and rejuvenate, while ASOS has teamed up with The Inkey List for a money-saving haul.
