The Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar has landed, and it’s a whopper. Priced at £60 when you spend £35, The Beauty Advent Calendar 2025 is worth £330. I had the pleasure of trying it before its October 9 release date, and I must say, it’s exactly what you want from an advent calendar.

The calendar is packed in a sturdy black and gold box that opens with an ‘oooh’. Literally, that’s printed on the inside cover, and it really was my reaction. Its goodies are individually packaged in numbered boxes, all arranged in a satisfying puzzle. It gives every bit of satisfaction you get from looking for the day’s number with glee.

Like the heathen I am forced to be for the purposes of this review, I opened every single box immediately, and I was impressed by the haul I got. Here’s everything you’ll find in the advent calendar:

I’ve already tested a lot of the products, and I have yet to find something I don’t like. The Bloom & Blossom Off to Bed Bath Oil is a relaxing way to make skin unbreably soft before bed, and when paired with the Cowshed Relax Shower Gel, it made me feel like I’d just left the spa.

The Percy & Reed I Need a Hero Overnight Recovery Mask, when applied to my freshly brushed and braided hair, left me with silky soft hair like I’ve never had before. And the Soft Gardinia Eau de Toilette might be my favourite treat in the box; it smells like a fresh spring garden, and I have been applying it every morning without fail.

Inside, you’ll discover 25 expertly curated treasures, each one hand-picked by our beauty specialists to bring joy and radiance throughout the festive season.’

On the beauty side, the Clinique High Impact Mascara is perfect for a no-makeup makeup look. It sits somewhere between brown and black, making my lashes look longer and fuller without an obvious mascara vibe. Paired with the Stila Smudge & Set Waterproof Gel Eyeliner, I achieved a sultry, chocolatey look that only took seconds to apply. I finished the look with the Benetint, which is a watery pink liquid. While it felt weird to apply, it dried impressively fast and made me look like I had slightly pinker lips than I usually do – and it stayed all day.

Obviously, not every product in the box is suited for everyone. But they make great stocking fillers or easy Christmas gifts for beauty buffs with different hair and skin types to you. For example, the Prai Ageless Throat Gold Decolletage is going to my best friend’s mum, and the Living Proof shampoo and conditioner have already been claimed by my friend and fellow editor Emma. Either way, opening up those little shiny boxes every morning for a treat is exactly what I need on a dark winter day.
