‘I tried the most expensive burger in the UK and price will make you wince’

A popular online food reviewer has tasted Gordon Ramsay’s expensive burger at his eatery in Harrods recently – and people have shared their thoughts on the price

There’s nothing like tucking into a good burger when you are really hungry or in need of a well needed treat. But how much would you pay for a good quality one? One man recently bought the most expensive burger in the UK and has shared his verdict on whether it is really worth it or not, after paying a hefty price for it.

Viral food reviewer Laurence – known as @letstestlaurence on TikTok, is known for tasting the UK’s most popular and expensive food items. He has built up such a reputation, boasting over four million followers on TikTok, that people totally trust his opinions. He recently bought a burger on the fourth floor of Harrods, in Gordon Ramsay’s eatery – and paid a whopping £85.

The quality treat from Gordon Ramsay Burger includes 100% UK heritage beef patties – and is a bespoke blend of chuck, brisket and rib cap, grilled to juicy perfection on an open flame and brushed with Ivy House Farm butter for an extra hit of nutty sweetness, according to Harrods.

The posh department store adds: “Fire up your taste buds with the chef’s signature Hell’s Kitchen Burger, layered with fresh mozzarella, jalapeños, avocado and roasted tomatoes, or double down on the patties with the Oklahoma Smash Burger, piled up with American cheese, red onion, house pickles and sriracha mayo..”

After walking up to the fourth floor, Laurence managed to get a table straight away. When the burger arrived, the food review said it “smells pretty incredible”. He said he noticed a taste of truffle inside the treat and said they burger was “extremely rich”. “All the flavours are sort of coming together,” he added.

The dish also comes on a fancy plate, and accompanied with a large cone of truffle fries. “Again, the truffle flavour is really strong,” he added, noted that the chips come with an aioli sauce. Once, finished he used the Gordon Ramsay-branded hand wipe.

“I tried this, it was amazing,” said one person, while another who thinks they would love the treat said: “Loving the truffle vibes. Girlfriend can’t even stand the smell of truffle without wanting to throw up, bizarre, I love the stuff.”

But others don’t seem as impressed. One commented: “Daylight robbery prices, 85 quid for a burger is insane, even with the most prime ingredients, shouldn’t be over 40 quid.” While another shocked individual exclaimed: “£85! For a burger.”

Someone else wrote: “£85 for a burger and chips, I don’t care who’s restaurant it is, they are ripping people off, the price is because of the name of the owner of the restaurant.”

While another person said: “Go to a butchers shop and they will more often than not have a better burger to cook yourself than you’ll get at any restaurant.” One other said: “I would never pay that for a burger that is mad no wonder why everything cost so much up in London.”
