Beauty lover and trends writer Lucy Farrell tested out the viral Amazon snail serum to see if it really makes your skin look like ‘glass’ – now she can’t live without it
A beauty fanatic has tried and tested Amazon’s viral snail serum which is said to give your face a “glass” like radiance.
Amazon’s Spring Day Deals are here, offering plenty of discounts across a mountain of beauty products. Proving that they are thinking outside the box when it comes to skincare with impressive anti-ageing properties, the retailer has been selling everything from bee venom to snail slime. With a combined five star rating from over 67,000 reviewers, these products have been applauded with some saying they are now “staples in their skincare routine”.
One popular product – which has been hailed as ‘Botox in a bottle’ – is a serum which has gone viral on social media recently. Containing 96.3 percent Snail Secretion Filtrate, the product is said to keep skin hydrated while warding off aging signs. The cult favourite among beauty fans has been slashed to a low price is COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, now down to £11.09 from £21, previously on sale for £14.09.
The product is used by fans before applying their moisturisers. The nail serum’s naturally hydrating compounds include glycolic acid, glycoprotein enzymes and copper peptides – usually added to luxury products.
Trends Writer Lucy Farrell wanted to see if all the fuss is really worth it – she has used the product every day for the last seven months, reports the Daily Record. Now, the product is a permanent staple in her skincare routine – here’s why.
‘I can’t live without out it’
I’m always eager try the latest creams, serums and sprays that promise to improve my complexion. With the hype that has been surrounding the CORSX Power Essence, I knew I had to give it a go.
I previously wrote about my experience with the serum back in November – after testing it for four months, I initially found it to be drying, while failing to notice any “glass” effects. But now, I can see that my skin is brighter and more even, which is why I won’t be giving it up anytime soon.
On first use, I found it’s consistency to be tacky and worried that it would make my skin sticky, but this wasn’t the case, as it soaked into the skin quickly after application. Despite following application directions, I had previously wondered if it wasn’t for my skin, as I felt it become dry after using for the first two weeks.
However, I have learned a few things since then to maximise its effects and now I can’t live without it.
I started applying it directly to my damp skin after cleansing, having previously waiting for my face to dry before using. I had seen some beauty fans recommend this online and I believe doing this allowed my skin to retain more moisture.
Secondly, I moved from using it only once a day to applying it in the morning and at night and with extra use, I feel that it made it more beneficial – all though I did run out of it faster. I think these changes really made a difference and have fully converted me to a full time snail serum user.
The old saying “good things come to those who wait” can apply to many things – and this includes skincare. After being patient and consistent with the serum, I can see that my skin has a lasting glow without looking greasy and my overall skin tone has become more balanced.
Users shouldn’t expect results over night, as this product really needs time to settle in and get to work. I also think it’s important to avoid using it sparsely and to apply it consistently in order to notice a real change.
