A woman was left stunned after a surprising part of her body caused her an issue at airport security. It kept setting off the alarm, and she couldn’t believe what was causing it
It’s fair to say that most people want to move through the airport smoothly – often using tips and tricks to help prevent travel delays. However, one woman recently got into a spot of bother when she was travelling, as a specific part of her body was causing the security alarm to go off all the time, and she didn’t realise why.
Documenting her travel journey on TikTok, content creator a.l.i.xoxo advised people never to wear tracksuit bottoms to the airport for a pretty funny reason. When she discovered what was causing her a problem at security, she couldn’t help but laugh, as it was such a hilarious blunder to make.
Although she admits she “loves” her Juicy Couture tracksuit problems, she admitted they caused her a bit of a problem at airport security. It looks as though they may be another item to add to the list of things not to wear when travelling on a plane.
In the clip, she said: “Just got frisked at the airport, and I almost got taken into a back room because, whenever I walked through the metal detector, my [private parts] flagged, and I was like ‘what?’
“I don’t have anything in my pants. You want to know what it was? C’mon Juicy. It was the Juicy bling.”
As many people know, Juicy Couture tracksuits have “juicy” written across the back in a diamante-like material. This is what appears to have caused the alarm to go off.
The situation left people tickled, as they couldn’t believe what was causing the problem. She seemed to find humour in the situation though.
One person replied: “Stop, you look like a doll.” To this, the content creator said: “Omg, it was a super cute and comfy travel outfit, but the potential to get strip-searched is not worth it.”
Another added: “Omg, this happened to me, and they searched inside the hood. I was scared, especially because it flagged the front for some reason.”
A third also replied: “Oh no, I’m sorry your bling did this to you.” In the end, the security officer realised what was causing the problem, so all was well eventually.
What should you wear through airport security?
If you want a smooth journey through airport security, there are a few things people are advised to do. Generally, people are told to opt for simple, comfortable clothing and footwear that are easy to remove and put back on.
It’s also best to avoid bulky clothing, excessive metal and items that might trigger alarms or require extra screening. You could also think about wearing a jacket with pockets for easy storage of valuables and also opt for slip-on shoes for quick removal.
As well as this, it’s best to avoid clothing with lots of zippers, buttons or metal embellishments, as these can trigger alarms. Loose-fitting clothing is also a good option.
If you feel you need something to keep you warm, consider wearing a light jacket or sweater that can be easily removed and placed in a bin. This will help to minimise disruption when moving through security.
