A recent visitor to Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm has explained why they didn’t get the chance to go inside the farm shop, and TripAdvisor reviews suggest it’s a common gripe with those who go

A Jeremy Clarkson fan was left disappointed after a visit to his Diddly Squat Farm resulted in them having to skip the on-site shop.

The former Top Gear presenter has been farming the land at Diddly Squat since 2021, and his agricultural adventures have been documented across three series for Amazon Prime.

Tourists have been flocking to the Oxfordshire location in droves, keen to spot Clarkson and his team, which includes Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland.

TikTok user Vian’s World recently made the journey and posted a snippet of their experience online. Although they enjoyed a meal and snagged some of the farm’s Bee Juice honey, the farm shop remained unexplored.

In response to an inquiry about waiting times, Vian’s World commented: “There was a very long queue to get into the farm shop probably over an hour so we didn’t end up going in. But the food queue wasn’t bad at all.”

This issue seems to be a common gripe among visitors, as reflected in several TripAdvisor reviews. One disgruntled guest recounted: “Arrived at the car park was not expecting the amount of cars parked up everywhere. Was chucking it down with rain umbrellas out and coats on. We jumped over the massive puddles in the car park and joined the queue got very muddy shoes. Took over an hour to finally get to the shop, spent a fortune.”

Another reviewer had to wait in a much longer queue, but was full of praise afterwards. “Happened to go on the busiest week day they had all year,” they penned. “Parked up ok in the field, I think they are working on a new car park by the shop. We had a 2 1/4 hour queue to get into the farm shop. Its worth it though as wanted to go for ages. Plenty for sale so I bought a few things, lager, ginger ale, vodka, crisps and fudge.”

A third visitor shared their experience: “We went early but still had an hour and a half queue wait to get to the shop. Luckily, the weather was okay, and the people around us friendly. You can order food and drinks from the back of the shop whilst you wait. The shop itself is small but is kept well stocked by great staff. It’s so expensive so we only got a couple of bits.”

Despite some negative feedback, Diddly Squat Farm has a TripAdvisor score of 3.5 out of 5 after 525 reviews. A recent guest was clearly thrilled with their visit, giving the farm top marks. “Easy to find with plenty of parking (although some plonkers still park on the road),” they said. “We arrived for opening and had 25min wait, which was fine as sun was shining. Staff helpful and friendly. Shop prices generally no more expensive than any farm shop. Good range of interesting stock.

“Had drinks and food in the lambing barn, was scrumptious and not over priced, no long queues or waits here. I was pleased to see vegetarian options on the menu too. Lovely views and plenty of room to sit and soak it all up. Spent a couple of hours here and was well worth a visit.”
