A woman has documented the moment she went on a first date wearing what some might argue is an inappropriate date outfit in order to see how her date would react.
Dating can be nerve-wracking, especially if you have never met your date before. Because of this, it can be a good idea to have some ice breakers at the ready in order to avoid any awkward moments. This can include thinking of some topics or question to ask before the date, or to go somewhere where you’ll always have something to discuss. However, one woman decided to break the ice in a different way as she went on a first date wearing an inappropriate outfit in order to see how he’d react.
Teri Kearns has posted several videos on her social media accounts where she’s seen trying to make dating as fun as possible by surprising her dates with bizarre outfits or weird behaviours. In one video posted to Instagram, she went on to share the moment she showed up to a date’s house for the first time dressed as an animal.
“I’m about to go on a first date, and this guy on Hinge told me to wear my dolphin outfit,” Teri said, showing a screenshot of the date’s message to confirm what she said. “So I don’t think he’s actually expecting me to do it, but let’s go see what he says.”
The next clip shows Teri knocking on the man’s door before it opened a few seconds later, revealing her excited face in her costume as she awaited his reaction to her outfit.

“Holy f**k yeah,” the man is heard saying off camera before bursting out laughing.
“What?” Teri asked, pretending not to know why she was laughing, which made him say: “You’re out of control.”
This made Teri ask if her date didn’t like her outfit, before adding: “Nice to meet you.” She then went on to continue her dolphin act by asking if they should go to the ocean together.
“Do I look pretty?” she then went on to ask, to which he quickly replied: “You look extremely pretty.”
The video then ended, and Teri went on to add in the caption of the post: “I think he liked me.”
The viral video quickly racked up over 2.5 million views, with viewers praising Teri for her hilarious act, while also wondering if this was the start of a new relationship with the anonymous Hinge date.
“He wasn’t laughing, he was trying to communicate with you,” one person said, while a second person exclaimed: This is brilliant love it.”
A third asked: “Was there a second date? Because I’d propose right then and there.”
While a fourth added: “This is the type of unhinged I aspire to be.”
Someone else probed: “Omg what happened where’s the update?!”, to which Teri sadly shared, “Never heard from him again” along with a cry laughing emoji.
