The biscuits described as ‘the best’ and ‘divine’ have now launched in two UK supermarkets – including three different flavours – and Brits are excited

Australia is known for its exotic wildlife and stunning beaches, as well as one biscuit which had been dubbed “Aussie gold” – and they are now coming to the UK.

Arnott’s Tim Tam biscuits have been enjoyed by Aussies since 1964, and have excited holidaygoers for years – who couldn’t wait to get their hands on a packed of Tim Tams after landing Down Under – but now you won’t have to. The crunchy treat, filled with a velvety cream filling and chocolate exterior, has been likened to the British Penguin biscuit. But, now we can get the real deal.

Tim Tams are now available in Waitrose & Partners as well as Ocado. A packet will cost you £2.50. Further listings at retailers are expected to be confirmed soon.

It comes after several biscuit fans took to social media to share that they wanted Tim Tams to be sold in the UK. One individual took to X and said: “Who loves a Tim Tam? @ArnottsBikkies Tell me please! What is the Tim Tam Slam? I simply love Tim Tam Original biscuits. #arnottschocolate Where in the UK can I buy my favourite biscuits?”

Another said: “@TIMTAM I have a few friends who rave about Tim Tam, I went on Amazon to buy some, but they are extortionately priced in the UK, is there anywhere I would be able to get them cheaper? I want to see what all the fuss is about.”

The original Tim Tam comprises a sandwich of two crunchy malted biscuits filled with chocolate cream filling and covered with a thin layer of milk chocolate. The dark version switches milk for dark chocolate. There is also a caramel version that includes a chewy caramel filling alongside the chocolate cream.

The launch of Tim Tam’s in the UK opens up the doors to the wonderful Tim Tam Slam – it’s a tradition when trying the biscuit plus great fun. All you need to do is bite off the diagonal ends of your biscuit. Next, dunk it into your tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, and let it soak for a few seconds, you then use the Tim Tam like a straw and suck the hot liquid up – you will experience the biscuit in the most indulgent way.

Reacting to the news of biscuits’ arrival in the UK, one individual said on X they “can’t wait”. On Facebook, another added: “Exciting news! Tim Tams are great. My parents would bring them back with them when they visited friends in Australia. So many flavours out there, it’s unreal. The salted caramel ones are divine.”

“I found some in Waitrose,” wrote another. “We can do the Tim Tam challenge,” another excited individual said. A Reddit user commented: “Tim Tams are the best. I leave half a suitcase empty when I visit family. I go home with as many Tim Tams as will fit.”
